Affirmation of Love

This short article that I read on "Positive Thinking" towards certain things like love, friendship, or certain goals reminds me of a book I read a while back called The Secret. Now, I'm not saying that I agree with the whole books main meaning "think positive thoughts and you'll get what you what." You have to work towards it as well. Maybe they mention that second part in the book, maybe they don't, I'm not quite sure exactly. Anyway, here are a few short sayings you can tell yourself daily, doing these everyday really makes me feel better when I'm having a crappy day.

"I radiate love to those around me and in return they radiate love to me, I do everything in a consciousness of love, I spread love to all those that I meet and they spread love to me, I am surrounded by people who love me and I give thanks for that love, I allow love to find me easily and effortlessly, Love is all around me."

Book Hunt & A Sunny Day Park Photoshoot.

Had a delicious picnic the other day at a nearby park, also snapped some good pictures around the park!
I'm currently on a hunt for a few books, What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen (one of my favorite authors), Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story by Chuck Klosterman, and a couple books by another favorite, Chuck Palahniuk.

Found this quote on one of my favorite blogs, and its a pretty good one.  But I really have to disagree with the very first line. Not everyone "has the potential to fall in love a thousand times" in your lifetime. Not many people may have the potential nor the opportunity to fall in love even once let alone a thousand times in their lifetime.

"We all have the potential to fall in love a thousand times in our lifetime. It’s easy.

But there are certain people you love who do something else; they define how you classify what love is supposed to feel like. These are the most important people in your life, and you’ll meet maybe four or five of these people over the span of 80 years. But there’s still one more tier to all this; there is always one person you love who becomes that definition. It usually happens retrospectively, but it always happens eventually. This is the person who unknowingly sets the template for what you will always love about other people, even if some of those qualities are self-destructive and unreasonable.

You will remember having conversations with this person that never actually happened. You will recall sexual trysts with this person that never technically occurred. This is because the individual who embodies your personal definition of love does not really exist. The person is real, and the feelings are real—but you create the context. And the context is everything.

The person who defines your understanding of love is not inherently different than anyone else, and they’re often just the person you happen to meet the first time you really, really want to love someone. But that person still wins. They win, and you lose. Because for the rest of your life, they will control how you feel about everyone else."

The last two paragraphs of that quote are my favorite, I think I can relate to that part the most.

311 & Sublime Concert with some awesome ladies!

Went to a 311 & Sublime concert with a few friends last Saturday. It was so much fun, listening to amazing music and drinking awesome beverages! I wore my favorite belt/skirt combination. It was perfect weather for this outfit.

Hot Days.

At least it's not raining anymore around here, I've been into a lot of earth colors lately, plus a few different colors of pink. I love these bracelets. The two small gold bangles and the orange stone bracelet with engraved leaves we're a thrift store find, the gold cuff was a gift from my godmother, and the black lucite bangle is from Forever 21.

Some inspirational pictures, this is the vibe I've been feeling recently...vintage, earthy, tribal indian type of vibes.

Trip to the Botanical Gardens.

More pictures with this dress. A couple of friends and I took a trip to the Botanical Gardens a little while back, it was super hot out but also a perfect day for photographing!

I'm still getting a lot of calm earthy vibes for my outfits as of lately. Feathers, flowy dresses and skirts, and lots of bracelets of course!

This is the call of arms to live and love and sleep together.

Hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July this year! I certainly did...

Look closely! Do you see my 4th of July nails? I had a fun time painting them and found a bunch of cool nail designs in the process! I was really tired on 4th of July so I was just wearing a comfy nautical shirt and...black sweatpants. Ha ha. I had a long week and it's only going to get more busier from here til Monday (workworkwork blah thecorporateworldtakesanotherdown work)!!Thankfully I have some post drafts saved!

Now last but certainly my favorite part of this post, I always think of this song around the time of fireworks...

Shoe favorites.

My favorite shoes from the past spring/summer seasons. It looks like Spring/Summer 2009 had some really amazing shoes, really glad I snagged the black pair of Ann D's a couple months back but I would also love these in white. My favorites above, Dries Van Noten always makes beautiful shoes. Check 'em out below...

Love all of these, I'm crazy about beads on shoes! I'm currently sketching a couple of pairs of beaded shoes and I can't wait til there done!

Now, while I don't usually find any Marc Jacobs shoes that really catch my eye (even though I love the designers purses, very beautiful work) the Resort 2010 collection of shoes was certainly quite eye catching...

Now, I am not a fan of jelly shoes, or any type of rubbery shoes for that matter. They really irk me, so yes as you can guess I really hate rubber flip flops, or just flip flops of any kind. These pair of jelly platform heels would be perfect if the top part of the shoe wasn't jelly! The velvet part is beautiful, so leather would have been much better for the straps, in fact when I first saw them I though it was leather until I researched further. I am so disappointed because I really would love this shoe if it wasn't for the jelly part. They came in 3 beautiful colors, pink, blue, and gray. Too bad for the jelly straps.

More later, Miu Miu has been on it the past couple of seasons with their shoes, same for YSL! More shoe favorites posts to come!
